TechChill launches pitching competition
Riga’s top startup event TechChill, which will take place in May, has announced its annual pitch competition Fifty Founders Battle.
All seed and early stage startups from different tech fields are encouraged to take part and compete for recognition of international investors along with the main prize of 10,000 euros, TechChill said in a statement.
The application deadline is April 1, which is when 50 of the most promising startups from across the Baltic, Scandinavian and Central European regions will be selected among all participants. Each semi-finalist will then have the opportunity to present their business idea on TechChill’s virtual stage in front of over 200 investors and other attendees.
This year the main focus is on FinTech, B2B, AI&ML, Sustainability, Hardware, IoT and Robotics fields, and in addition to the main cash prize of 10,000 euros, one of the most competitive participants will also receive Httpool’s special prize for Facebook and LinkedIn ad campaigns worth 3,000 euros.
TechChill 2021 will be held virtually, gathering over 2,000 international investors, including representatives of venture capital companies and accelerators, as well as business angels, eager to get to know the Baltic region and its most promising startups, discover innovative business ideas and evaluate future investment possibilities.
“Fifty Founders Battle was the start of a crazy 2020 for Woola. Winning the competition gave us the recognition that’s needed when starting to fundraise. The cash prize helped us survive while bootstrapping until we ended the year with a 450,000 euros investment round. We’re especially happy to see Greentech emerge in the battle – looking forward to seeing more climate startups succeed this year. Our experience shows that Fifty Founders Battle is a great platform for any startup on the way to growth and global success,” Woola co-founder Anna-Liisa Palatu said.
